Ulises Cuñe put out a win32 installer for w3af a while back, making its installation a million times easier.

I will show you the simple steps to get it up and running, and even show how to customize it with a GTK theme.

Install steps

Download http://downloads.sourceforge.net/w3af/w3af-setup-r1243.exe

Install. Yup, it really is that simple now!

They even included an svn client batch that you can use to update from a start menu shortcut. Make sure you check the svn client box during the installation.

Customization

First, go find a theme you like. Check out these sites:

http://www.gnome-look.org/

http://art.gnome.org

Some themes use a special gtk engine. You can find compiled win32 themes/engines here:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gtk-win/gtk2-themes-2008-01-21-win32_bin.zip

Extract that package somewhere and copy lib and share folders to your w3af directory.
To set the new theme as default.
C:\Program Files\w3af\etc\gtk-2.0\gtkrc and gtkrc.default Line 3:
change to gtk-theme-name = “themename”

Some screens:

greezy

aero-ion

xfce (from base package)

Are you a w3af user?
